Multiplying Your Ministry

Session Agenda

1. Reconnect with your coaching group (if applicable).

2. Share a devotion and prayer.

3. From Hero to Hero Maker

Jesus modeled hero making leadership, empowering others to do great things. He was a Hero Maker! David Dummitt says it this way:

“The message of Jesus flipped the world on its head. Many of his teachings are counterintuitive and require paradigm shifts: The last will be first. The greatest person is the least. The leader is the servant. Life comes through death. And the real hero is the person raising and releasing other leaders, the hero maker.”

Recall the 5 Essentials of Hero Making:

  1. Multiplication Thinking – A shift from thinking that ministry happens through my own leadership to thinking that ministry happens through multiplied leaders.
  2. Permission Giving – A shift from seeing what God can do through my own leadership to seeing what God can do through other leaders.
  3. Disciple Multiplying – A shift from sharing what I’ve learned to add followers, to sharing what I’ve learned in ways that multiply disciples (Apprenticeship not
  4. Gift Activating – A shift from asking God to bless the use of MY gifts to asking God to bless the gifts of those I am sending out…no longer filling slots but instead developing individual giftedness and commissioning leaders to use those gifts.
  5. Kingdom Building – A shift from counting people who show up at my thing to counting leaders who go out to do God’s thing.
